  16. This project's goal is to provide a public available AmigaOS which
  17. is compatible with AmigaOS 3.1 (Kickstart 40.70) able to run on
  18. other hardware than the Amiga (but on the Amiga also). The current
  19. memberlist:

  22.     Matthias Fleischer (coding, ie. he's the one who works ;-) )
  23.     Martin Steigerwald (port to Alpha and Sparc)
  24.     Peter Boeckmann (coding some small functions)

  26.     Lennard voor den Dag (Amiga port - at last :-)

  28. and some 300 others (which are not mentioned here since they have not
  29. written a line of code yet).

  31. !!! IMPORTANT: TO USE AROS IN THE CURRENT FORM, YOU MUST HAVE LINUX ON A
  32. PC WITH INTEL CPU (eg. 386, 486, Pentium) AND X11R6 !!!

  34. There are two archives which contain different things:
  35.  
  36.     AROSdev##.lha
  37.     AROSbin##.lha
  38.  
  39. where ## is the version-number. The dev archive contains all files
  40. neccessary to create bin and dev archives and to build/port the
  41. complete tree. The bin Archive right now contains everything to test
  42. AROS on Linux, ie. it contains an executable which simulates an Amiga
  43. and some binaries to test it (Dir, List, Echo, LibraryTest and OpenWin).
  44. Sorry, no Amiga port at this time.

  46. If you want to contribute, read README.CVS. Right now, you need access
  47. to a Unix site to do this (or a friend you trust) to generate a password.
